I found a great resource for woman that think they may be pregnant, pregnant woman, and mothers with young children!  It’s Alpha Woman’s Center at 406 SW School St Room #206, in Ankeny, IA and 3605 SE 14th St. in Des Moines.  They offer FREE pregnancy tests, prenatal and parenting helps, maternity clothes AND baby supplies! The environment is bright and cheery and the people genuinely care about you.  There’s no criteria to meet or income requirements to join, all are welcome.  I joined their “BURP Program” today.  I got six “burp bucks” for signing up to spend on baby supplies.   I got some wipes, baby formula, diapers and still have four bucks to spend at no cost to me.  I can earn more bucks by attending their free classes, like a EPNEP nutrition class, going to the doctor and other things.  You can also give clothes your child has outgrown in exchange for larger sizes of the same type!  All mothers who give birth while in the program get a nice gift basket and handmade quilt!  Check out their website HERE or call them at (515)965-7885.  If you are or know of a someone who needs a little support through their pregnancy or in the crazy times after the baby, visit Alpha Woman’s Center.   It’s women helping women through through the journey of motherhood.   May also be a great place to donate baby items.
