“The entire community is invited to the Great Pumpkin party! Kids, wear your non-scary costumes and enjoy giant inflatables, pony rides, petting zoo, Amazing Chemistry Show, performances by Lantern Music, carnival games, free food, and more! With nearly 6,000 guests last year, The Great Pumpkin Party is Des Moines’ best family activity this fall. And it’s totally free! You won’t want to miss it.”  Info taken directly from HERE.

We love this event and look forward to it every year!  They even have a night set aside for special needs families on October 22, from 6 – 8pm.

Easy $5

Would you believe that I actually read the Water Works newsletter that came with the bill?  They reduce nitrogen levels through bioremediation at Crystal Lake..  And there are plans to “re-envision” Water Works Park.  And you can get $5 credit on your DMWW water bill by signing up for  e-statements.  Go to DMWW.com and create an account..  Then click on “Go Paperless” at the green bar on top.  They say you must sign up by December 31, 2013 to receive the rebate.
